This has really opened my eyes.

Three months ago an 8 year girl was brutally and ruthlessly raped. He took the girl into the bushes, tore her school uniform from her body and severely beat and raped the small child. Doctors and family were unsure if she would survive, fearing the surgery would kill her in her frail state. She has since undergone one surgery and has two remaining surgeries to come. Her kidneys were heavily bruised, her intestines and rectum needed to be reset. She currently lays in bed unable to stand because her feet swell when she does, unable, though wanting to go to school. She urinates via a colostomy bag. She takes sleeping pills every 6 hours and has a list of medicine that dwarfs an A4 piece of paper.

The young girl cannot return to the town where she so nearly lost her life, so her family are living divided, temporarily in the properties of their employers, in the most basic of conditions. The father has attempted suicide. Every word her mother speaks battles tears.
Her uncle raised $7300 within 3 days to send to her so she can have the surgeries she needds to survive.
